FAQs
What is your shipping policy?
We roast on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Usually our processing time is 3-5 days or less, but this may vary based on shipping schedules and roasting schedules. We most often ship same day, but always next day so that it is fresh when it arrives at your doorstep. Shipping updates are provided through USPS and included in your confirmation email. If a major U.S. holiday falls on a business day you can expect your coffee to go out the next available shipping day.

What is the optimal time to drink my coffee after the roast date?
For filter (home coffee makers, pour-overs, etc.), we recommend brewing anywhere from 7-10 days off roast. The coffee can be brewed at a later date and will still taste delicious, but we have found our coffee shines best within a week off roast.
For espresso, we recommend brewing between 7-14 days off roast. There is CO2 that is created in the roasting process and while this can be beneficial for other brewing methods, it can hinder brewing with an espresso machine.
what’s the best way for me to store my coffee?
The best way to store coffee is to store it whole bean (not ground) in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. We suggest that you avoid storing coffee in a fridge or freezer. Moving beans in and out of the freezer every time you make coffee can introduce moisture to the beans which can degrade the coffee. However, if you cannot consume all your coffee before the desired optimal time off of the roast date, then we suggest portioning your coffee into single servings before freezing. This way, you are removing only the coffee that you are consuming.
Coffee can easily absorb the flavor of things around it. So, take care in choosing a container to store your coffee in.
do you add flavorings to your Coffee?
What we call a coffee bean is actually the seeds of a cherry-like fruit. The fruit is found in clusters along the branches of the tree. The skin of a coffee cherry is thick and bitter. However, the fruit beneath it is intensely sweet and has the texture of a grape. Being that coffee derives from a fruit, we use tasting notes on our packaging and on our website as a way for us to describe nuances in each coffee, noticing things like brightness, sweetness and body… similar to wine. But do not be alarmed if you can’t taste citrus or floral notes in your cup. Flavor only matters in the context of you.
how come the coffee i was buying is no longer available?
Our coffee menu reflects the seasonality of coffee growing seasons, so you will often see coffee from specific regions only available during certain periods of the year. We may not have a particular coffee available when you are looking for it, but we can help you find something similar that you will like - we’re here to help!
